Sarawak State Library Makersmeet 2017 have received an overwhelming responses from the public in the 2-day programmed held in the Kuching State Library on the 21 and 22 November in continuation from Makersmeet event that held in Miri State Library last September. The programme is promoting the maker movement in the state, focusing on building networks of makers, entrepreneurs and highlighting local talents.

The 2-day programme promotes the public to explore hands-on and fun activities such as woodworks, arts & craft, 3D printing and electronic. Among the participant involved in the 2-day activities were 3D Printing, Drone racing and demonstration, Paper quilting activities, STEM – Building a Tower Challenge , Augmented Reality demonstration, Soldering, Hot Wheels collector exhibitions and demonstration, Air Brush Gundam, Jong Racing & Demo, Makers workshop, Cosplay Costume Contest and other local products producer.

Wariscan together with My Maker association under the MCMC had joined the programmed to promote augmented reality (AR) experiences and education exposure to local public by using our cultural heritage arts as our core contents. Makers from various ages and background with interest ranging from electronics, arts and craft, kit makers, local textiles makers, local performing arts, hobbies, carpentry and other interesting products involved in the event to share their knowledge and interest with public community.

This kind of programme not only supporting our local makers but also exposed our future generation and nurture their interest to become creative innovator in the future.
